University Research Project

Thank you for taking an interest in our research project. Please click on the link below to complete our questionnaire, or email us with any queries

We seek individuals who run all year and consider running a lifestyle choice. We are not concerned about ability, age, gender, performance, or running aspirations. We expect you to identify as a runner and run at least 20 km a week. You will be asked to complete an initial survey to explain your running experiences and routines. We expect this survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. You will then share your Strava data with us for a three-month period. We will be accessing data only available on Strava’s premium package and offering to pay your subscription for the research period. We also expect you to complete a short weekly survey taking about 5 minutes. At the end of the three-month research period, we will ask you to participate in a short interview regarding the places you run and why. This interview will be optional. Please note that this survey is entirely voluntary and is for academic purposes only. It has no commercial component. We will collect some personal information; however, you will not be identified in the research dissertation or subsequent publications. Your personal data will be securely stored in accordance with Curtin University’s privacy protocols. If you would like to participate in this research project, please complete the questionnaire below to see if you qualify for the study. We will then contact you directly by email to invite you to participate.Feel free to direct like-minded runners to the project. This research will be conducted through Curtin University over three months and will be included in Peter’s PhD dissertation. Please contact Peter at [email protected] if you have any comments or queries regarding the research project.Regards,Dr Shaphan Cox and Peter Hallahan
